How to start and stick to an exercise routine

There’s no better time than any time of year to get back into exercise, or start one. Many of us struggle to keep our good intentions despite the distractions of family and work. These are some tips to help you stay on track with your exercise program.

Do not be afraid to start small. Although the goal of “Workout at Guadalupe Regional Wellness Center 45 minutes per day” is admirable, it might be easier to begin with a few 20-minute sessions per week before moving on to more challenging routines. Talk to one of our personal coaches to create a personalized and manageable workout program.

Make sure you have the right gear. You don’t have to spend a lot to get the right gear. However, it is important to have some basic basics to start a routine.

Freak in the Sheets sex toy tips

Tip No. 1:

While it’s tempting for you to buy vibrator toys from the Freak in the Sheets safety of your laptop, I’d recommend that you actually visit an actual brick and mortar shop, at least until you’re comfortable enough to know what to look for, what brands you prefer, etc. My preferred store is Early to Bed in Edgewater.

Tip No. 2:

Start cheap. Sure, the less expensive products will probably not last for as long (if you take care of them, they could), but nothing hurts more than spending a huge lump (of money) on the perfect crystal double dong only to realize that you don’t love it. Don’t overspend.

Tip No. 3:

Begin small. You may be tempted to grab the Ron Jeremy dildo–because it (im)pales when compared to the wine bottle-sized dildo that is next to it. However, common sense suggests that at times, our eyes are bigger than our vaginas. It is better to climb up the size ladder particularly when you are playing with anal toys.

Choose activities you love. If you are only interested in completing a task to check off a list or to lose weight, it is difficult to stay committed to pursuing an activity. Try a variety of activities, such as walking, running, cycling, and Zumba to discover what interests you the most. Guadalupe Regional Wellness Center offers many classes that will suit all levels of fitness.

Get a buddy. An accountability partner is the best way to keep yourself motivated. You can make your workouts more enjoyable by having an accountability partner, whether it is a spouse, friend, or co-worker.

Choose a time that suits you. It eliminates the chance of something happening that could prevent you from working out later. You also get a boost of energy to start your day. If morning workouts don’t suit you, don’t force them. It will only cause frustration and setbacks that can lead to you getting derail.

Celebrate your success. Keep track of your progress using a chart or calendar. Share your accomplishments with family and friends when you reach milestones, such as one month of consistent exercise. Your friends and family will keep you motivated.
